I have been listening to this really challenging sermon series (13 cd's long!) by Rick Holland and it's forcing me to re-evaluate what I believe a godly woman to be.
I grew up a complete American. 3 generations of my family have been born in the USA! I was thrown into the aftermath of the feminist movement. I had the keychains and t-shirts as a jr higher: "girls rule boys drool" or "beaten by a girl? get used to it." I grew up in that mind set. Especially as an athletic girl among a plethora of guys.
I'm not necessarily saying that as a jr higher, I shouldn't have been allowed such things, but perhaps the message that it sends is not the biblical one. Yet that is how i grew up. It's what I believed to be true.
Taking the challenge to seek what the Bible says about a woman's role is hard for me. It's making me re-evaluate what I even want in my life, and if it is right.
I'm not saying, Jeka, that I have a set opinion... yet. I just think that my understanding of women has been skewed by the feminist movement and now it is up to me to seek what God says about such things.
what do you think is wrong with America's view on women?
