Random things for a random mind

You know that you've been away from home for a long time if McDonald's begins to look desirable and Justin Timberlake music videos pauses your day. A little bit of Americanity is necessary, sometimes. But only a little bit.

Often when I am traveling on a bus or train, I don't even want to get to my destination because I'd rather sleep in the cart or relax as the world passes my eyes. I like traveling like that.

I don't know where this plays a part in anything, but verse 12 has been stuck in my head for awhile now:

"Two are better than one,
because they have good return for their work:
If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!
Also if two lie down together they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

We need each other.

I suppose that the subject of true friendship and strong family ties have been heavy on my mind lately.

Anyways, I wanted to write this post to say that lately things have been quite good. Molto contento. I know that my past frustrations may have made it seem like I'm having a bad time here, but I'm not. I'm very much at the "never-want-to-leave" stage. The word "finals" has been tossed around, and this makes me miss this place already. I reside in Perugia, Italy. It's my city now. I LOVE IT HERE.

Nothing makes life better, after a busy morning, than a long, mid-afternoon run on a sunny day, and a shower so long, that it flooded the bathroom. I haven't ran in a very long time, but it felt so good, and I'm positive I ran off all the stress from the past three weeks.

A final, most glorious note. Prepare yourself: I realized that the turds who took my computer didn't manage to swipe my AC adapter! It was in a different place in my room. Haha, suckers. I hope that they are out of battery by now.
